A powerboat built by Manitou, the 23 vp oasis is a pontoon vessel. Manitou 23 vp oasis boats are typically used for day-cruising, freshwater-fishing and watersports.

• Under the VP configuration, the boat uses a triple-pontoon (“tri-toon” / “V-Toon”) layout: a larger center tube plus two outer tubes. On VP models, the center tube is 27” in diameter and is mounted about 5¼” (≈ 13 cm) lower in the water than the outer tubes (which are 23” in diameter).  
• The center tube gets positive-angle lifting strakes (chine like ridges) to help lift the boat out of the water at speed, improve planing, and give more stable ride/handling than a basic pontoon.  

In short: VP gives you many of the handling & hull-performance benefits of a classic V-bottom or sport-boat, but in a pontoon format.
